August 9 | "Be The Church" Mission Projects
We are “Blessed to be a blessing” as part of the Abrahamic Covenant of Genesis 12:1-3. Because of our faith in Christ, we have a responsibility to bless the nations. Be the Church Day is a time to think about others instead of ourselves.
CHALK THE WALK!!! - Use chalk on your sidewalks and driveways to share messages of hope and love. If you don't have supplies, we will get them to you. Just be sure to indicate in the "comments" section if you need chalk.
NO SEW BLANKETS! - Make blankets for patients undergoing chemotherapy. We will provide the flannel. All you have to do is cut the edges and tie off the strips of fabric. We will get the material to you.
WRITE LETTERS TO NURSING HOME RESIDENTS - As you know most nursing homes are closed to the public. So for 19 weeks these residents have been much more isolated than you or I have been. Your note can brighten the day of someone who has only seen only other residents and staff for the last 19 weeks. If you don’t have stationary, we will get those supplies to you. Be sure to indicate in the "comments" section if you need supplies.
LETTERS TO TROOP - Write a letter to those in the military are a long ways away from family and close friends. Your note helps them know they are not forgotten in the midst of this pandemic. If you don’t have stationary, we will get you those supplies. Be sure to indicate in the "comments" section if you need supplies.
YOUR CREATIVE IDEA! - Come up with your very own creative idea and do it! Share with us and others might want to join you. There is a place on the sign up genius to write down your creative ideas
BE SURE TO TAKE PICTURES OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DOING THE ACTIVITY AND EMAIL THEM TO BRAD CHAPIN (email@example.com) or TEXT HIM AT 512-694-5506)
Then join us for a fun Zoom Party at 7 pm where we will share pictures and stories of doing things for others. The Zoom invite is:
