Our youth ministry is focused on worshiping God, making new friends, finding ways to serve God by helping others, and having fun in the process. Through various growth opportunities and service work, we strive to rise up and be young leaders within our church.

Youth Education
& Fellowship

Youth Education and fellowship happens after worship on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Immediately after worship all youth ages middle through high school meet from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. During this time, the group shares a time of biblical reflection and discussion, games, and /or taking part in a variety of mission outreach activities.  We feel that it’s very important for the kids to share a meal together during this time so lunch is also provided.

Groups gather in the Church House for lunch and go from there.

Mission Work

We feel that it’s very important for our youth to learn to serve God by serving others and therefore try to make mission outreach part of our monthly schedule.  Our youth are involved in numerous local mission initiatives such as serving at the Angel House Soup Kitchen, volunteering at the Travis Brown Santa Program, and local food drives, just to name a few.

Our High School youth also have the opportunity to venture out to serve during our annual week-long youth mission trip, where we look for opportunities for them to experience serving in different environments so they can see the needs of those in other cities as well as in our own backyard.

Our youth participate in the two annual retreats that are listed below to help strengthen their faith and build relationships with other followers of Christ.

Main Event is a weekend long retreat that occurs in the fall of each year at John Knox Ranch for youth in grades 6-12.  The youth explore scripture and dive deeper into the theme of that years event.  There is also plenty of time for outdoor activities and games to help build and foster lasting relationships with both old and new friends.

Midwinters is a weekend long retreat/conference at the beginning of each year for youth in grades 6-12.  It is a great time for the youth and their adult sponsors to play, pray and refresh. During the event, Small Groups provide time for the kids to get to know other youth and explore scripture together. Keynote speakers help foster discussion and dig into the scriptures and theme of the event while music and recreation help round out the large group gatherings. There is also free time that allows the youth to explore Mo-Ranch and enjoying time with friends.
